SANFORD, N.C. --A toddler girl nearly drowned in a hot tub during a family party in?North Carolina on Thursday afternoon, authorities told WRAL-TV.?
The 1-year-old girl was with her mom at a relative?s home near Sanford while the family was on a large deck surrounding the hot tub and pool, WRAL reported.?
Just before 4:30 pm, the mother found the girl face down in the hot tub.?
The child, who was not identified, was taken to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill and was in critical condition Thursday night, WRAL reported.?
The girl?s grandfather performed CPR on the toddler, which rescuers say likely saved the girl?s life.
